Scripture: This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24
This is the first day of our new weekly blogpost and we begin by acknowledging that every new day is a unique gift to you from God just as this blogpost is new. How you welcome each new day will depend on your attitude towards life at this present time. Regardless of what you are experiencing, you have the choice of how you will respond.
What you make of this day is your responsibility. You may be influenced by your past, some things may have happened that caused you pain. Or, you may be filled with hope for the future, hope that something good will come sooner than expected. Whatever your circumstances, God is bigger than all of them. As you begin your day, begin with a deep sense of gratitude that you are alive.
Your attitude will influence the rest of your day! Choose joy, gratitude, and an expectation for that good outcome that you are praying for. It is important to start each day by praising God for His love, His presence and His goodness. Jump out of bed and do a silly dance.
Prayer: Father God, Help me experience Your presence in every moment of my day. Help me to live fully on this day, filling it with Your joy and Your goodness.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Reflection:
It is my suggestion that you journal your thoughts and experiences, even your feelings, as a means of pondering what you have read, or allowing the blogpost to guide you. You may not accept or believe everything you read, but asking questions of the material and of yourself is the best way to learn.
